This talk will be given by David Dawson who is a prominent archaeologist and Director of the Wiltshire Museum in Devizes.

David will be explaining about tracing the story of Devizes Castle, once a stronghold of Empress Matilda during the Anarchy period of civil war with King Stephen. The castle was originally built by Roger of Salisbury who also built castles in Old Sarum and Malmesbury.

NOTE: Doors open at 2.30pm. Talk starts at 3pm
